Throughout the course of her day, Nora often has a bunch of small, meaningful interactions with women out in the world. At the store, getting a spray tan, or just chatting with someone on the street, and they all make her feel okay.

About It's Going to Be OK

If you have anxiety, depression or any sense of the world around you, you know that not *everything* is going to be okay. In fact, many things aren’t okay and never will be!

But instead of falling into the pit of despair, we’re bringing you a little OK for your day. Every weekday, we’ll bring you one okay thing to help you start, end or endure your day with the opposite of a doom scroll.

Nora:

You know why i think it’s going to be okay?

Women.

Specifically, the interactions we get to have that our sons and husbands and dads will never have. The interactions that are just for us.

I’ve thought about this several times recently. When I went to get a mammogram and had to sit in the little locker room/waiting room in an ugly robe and when they called my name the other women waiting with me said “GOOD LUCK!” All together. And they meant it!

When I went to get my annual exam and my gynecologist and I found out we were the same age and talked about how weird it is that teenagers are dressing like it’s the 90s again when it really wasn’t that cute the first time!

When I was in my underwear chit chatting about our summer break plans with the girl who does my sprays tans, just bending over so she can get the little folder under my butt cheek nice and tan and talking about our favorite vacation spots.

When I wore my new Boden dress to the bookstore and the girl at the help desk complimented me and then looked up the dress online and then told me I changed her life by telling her about Boden. This is not sponsored by boden but i wish it was!

There is simply nothing on earth like this kind of camaraderie: when another woman tells you that your tag is out, and tucks it in for you.

When she hands you toilet paper underneath the stall because you didn’t notice there wasn’t any until it was too late.

When you ask about her lipstick and she hands it to you so you can take a picture of the brand and product name and buy it later.

Women: I love you. I love us. You make me feel like it’s going to be ok.

It’s going to be OK is a little daily podcast. M_f we’re here to put a little OK in your day. You can find us wherever you get podcasts.
