Nora: I’m Nora McInerny and it’s going to be okay. This show is here every Monday through Friday to help put a little bit of okay in your day so that you can start and or just get through your day with the opposite of a doom scroll. We love sharing your okay things and today’s okay thing comes from Stephanie who sent us an email.
My “okay thing” I’ve been trying to figure out is actually a lot of the little things.
It’s the fact that I got a beautiful wind chime from a friend who has recently passed because he knew I loved it. So instead of cursing the ridiculous wind where I live, I have a reminder he was here.
It’s that I lost my grandmother that I loved deeply, but also, I am gaining a nephew and so blessed.
It’s in the fact my dogs don’t play nicely at the park but realized I have a large fenced garden where I rent, and basically have a private dog park that’s is all for them.
It’s that my ex husband was so congratulatory when I recently got engaged and he actually meant it.
It’s my silly bird feeder I made sure to be able to see out of the window that I look out most often. It brings me incredible joy every morning.
I’ve been trying to find my “it’s going to be okay” thing and realized, there were so many little things I wasn’t appreciating, and those little things actually make up to be really big things.
Sometimes it’s just the wind in the pines and the sound of the chimes

Thank you, Stephanie, for sharing that. It really is the little things. We just did our first 30 days of okay, uh, practice, a little community practice, uh, in April, because there’s 30 days in April. I can never remember that rhyme. And tuning myself towards finding even just a small okay thing every day, those really are the big things.
They really are the big things. Um, and also as a fellow wind hater, I do think that a wind chime could possibly turn my attitude around, but, you know, my gripe with the wind, and if the wind is listening, I hope, you know, they take this into consideration, it’s always blowing the wrong direction, and then it’s always blowing my hair directly into my lip gloss or chapstick, so it’s a sensory thing for me, and so if it could just stop doing that, then maybe the wind and I could live in peace, or maybe I should just get a wind chime.
and take a chill pill. This is It’s Going to Be Okay. We are a sometimes silly, sometimes serious, always very sincere show. That’s so many S’s, I can’t believe I just said that off the top of my head and now I’m very aware of the sound of S’s. We’re here Monday through Friday, uh, to put a little bit of okay in your day and we love hearing yours.
You can share them at the email or the phone number that are in our show description. Uh, this is an independent podcast, so you sharing. This show with people really helps. Our team is Claire McInerny, Marcel Malikibu, myself, and Grace Berry. This episode was mixed by Amanda Romani, and our theme music is by Secret Audio.
