About It's Going to Be OK

If you have anxiety, depression or any sense of the world around you, you know that not *everything* is going to be okay. In fact, many things aren’t okay and never will be!

But instead of falling into the pit of despair, we’re bringing you a little OK for your day. Every weekday, we’ll bring you one okay thing to help you start, end or endure your day with the opposite of a doom scroll.

I’m Nora McInerny and It’s Going To be Okay.

Today’s okay thing comes from a listener named Jennifer.

Hi, Nora. This is Jennifer, and I wanted to share  my okay thing.  I feel like I have to say it’s really inconsequential, but I also know that that’s kind of the point of, you know, why you do the podcast is you want to help people share in the joy of the little things. So my okay thing is Sharpie markers.  Back in 2009, I got into  doing random abstract artwork, and I’m not 1 who usually stays with hobbies for all that long.

So the fact that we’re now in 20 24 and I’m still, um,  engaging with  Sharpie markers, and my artwork is pretty cool in my book.  But what makes me smile about Sharpie markers is just the plethora of colors that are available. I have no idea how many different Sharpie colors are out there, but  there are tons. And, um,  they just  bring a smile to my face when I look at the different colors and how the different colors  fit together to make something  that ends up looking pretty cool or even the names of some of the colors, which I have admittedly looked up online because I think,  um, some of them have really fun names.  Just it brings a smile to my face, um, when I sit at my desk and get out my art supplies.
