Even on the worst days, we can find one, small thing that can bring us a moment of joy. A sweet, hot beverage is often a wonderful place to start.
About It's Going to Be OK
If you have anxiety, depression or any sense of the world around you, you know that not *everything* is going to be okay. In fact, many things aren’t okay and never will be!
But instead of falling into the pit of despair, we’re bringing you a little OK for your day. Every weekday, we’ll bring you one okay thing to help you start, end or endure your day with the opposite of a doom scroll.

Nora: I’m Nora McInerny and It’s Going To Be Okay.
This show is all about finding the small, everyday joys that remind us the world isn’t fully bad.
Today’s okay thing comes from Sharon Robsky, who sent us an email:
My week got off to a rather crappy start. On Monday my kid came home from school and was very lethargic. I gave her a home covid test and it was positive. The virus has been around for nearly 4 years and this was the first time anyone in my house tested positive. Later that night there were some vomiting episodes too.
Tuesday morning comes and a good night of sleep has done wonders for her. She is energetic, talkative, and getting on my last nerve as I prepare to start my day of working from home. It was also during this time that the school nurse informed me that the school policy is the kid stays home for 5 days after a positive covid test.
During the Tuesday morning chaos I decided to make myself a cup of hot chocolate. On the back of the Swiss Mix box was a recipe for Mexican Hot Cocoa. Turns out I had most of the ingredients to make it. So I took the time to make myself a cup of fancy Mexican Hot Cocoa instead of regular. While I was making it I realized the recipe on the back of the Swiss Miss box was 1 ok thing that day. The cynic in me thinks recipes on the back of boxes are just a ploy to get people to buy more of the product, but looking at it while in an emotionally exhausted state I took it as a sign of “Here, do a little something nice for yourself.”
