Okay Caller: Hi, Nora and friends at feelings. co. My name’s Christine, and I’m calling you to tell you my story. I am 57 years old and have been going through a breakup with my 60 year old boyfriend, 60 years old, and, um, 28 days ago. He sent me a text message that said I can’t deal with us and that was it. I have not heard from him since, you know, at least Joe Jonas left Taylor Swift a 20 second voicemail message and Burger left Carrie a handwritten post it, but no, I get a five word.
Text message. Um, I’ve been friends with this man for 45 years, and this is what I get. Anyway, I’ve been just destroyed, heartbroken, crushed, and confused, and, um, really feeling like it’s not gonna be okay. But the other day I finally left the house hadn’t showered in, like, 4 days and I had to leave and I was driving down the street and I was stopped at a stoplight and I looked over and over at the corner.
There was a woman. She was covered, she had a hajib on, and the only part of her showing was her hands and her face. And she was holding the most beautiful little boy, about four years old, and kissing him and tickling him and playing with him. And I looked over at her, and I couldn’t take my eyes off her, and she looked at me, and she smiled, and she took her finger and put it under her chin.
And pushed her face up and smiled at me to tell me chin up, and I smiled back at her, and I mouthed the words, thank you, and she pressed her fingers to her mouth and gestured with her hand to offer me the kiss. She wasn’t blowing me a kiss, but offering it to me. Thank you again and touched my heart and then she whispered something to the little boy and the little boy looked at me and he smiled and he waved and then I knew it was going to be okay.
Somehow it was going to be okay. I’m so grateful to her and her son and their beautiful kind gesture. I just thought I’d share that with you. Thanks.
