About It's Going to Be OK
If you have anxiety, depression or any sense of the world around you, you know that not *everything* is going to be okay. In fact, many things aren’t okay and never will be!
But instead of falling into the pit of despair, we’re bringing you a little OK for your day. Every weekday, we’ll bring you one okay thing to help you start, end or endure your day with the opposite of a doom scroll.

Okay Listener: I’m historically not a believer in “retail therapy”. However recently I rediscovered Kohl’s- the Kohl’s card, the 30% coupons, Friends and Family discount, and my personal favorite, Kohl’s Cash.
When I was in high school, my best friend and I would go shopping at Kohl’s with our limited shopping budgets from our part time life guarding gig where we earned $6.00/hr. When we walked out of the store after checking out we would compare our receipts and look at the spent versus saved amount to see who scored the best deals from the juniors clearance racks. At the bottom of the receipt it would read something like “Spent $11.04, Saved $43.76”.
As we went our separate ways after high school, we would send each other messages after a particularly successful Kohl’s trip with our spent versus saved amounts. That friend and I had a major falling out about ten years ago, and to this day it breaks my heart to think about the friendship I lost and the bitter way it ended. However recently, when I rediscovered Kohl’s, I started looking at the bottom of my receipts and feeling the same joy I had at 16 when I compare my spent versus saved. It’s helped me to appreciate what we had a little more, and mourn we we lost a little less. It’s helped me to realize- it’s going to be okay. Because there will always be another 30% off coupon and there will be more Kohl’s Cash in my future. So now, I’d like to share with you my most recent Kohl’s conquest – Spent $18.25, SAVED $145.93!!!
