Nora: I’m Nora McInerny and it’s going to be okay. This podcast is a group project. We all know that big picture, things are not so great. So every weekday we meet here and we bring you the opposite of a doom scroll. We zoom in and bring you one. Small. Okay thing. And today’s okay.
Thing comes from. And today’s okay. Saying comes from a listener named Andrea. Who send us an email.
And today’s okay. Thing comes from a listener named Andrea trustee. Who sent us this email.
Here’s a little, it’s going to be okay. Regular mantra in the trustee family. Most mornings, I say to myself and often to my daughter and husband, as soon as they wake up. Good morning. Good news. The sun came up today. Sometimes we add any combination of that means another day to make someone smile, laugh. Do good.
Learn something or just be, but usually we just say the sun came up today. And we just know that we are fortunate to have another day for whatever will be. This all started a few years ago on my daily, early morning walk with my dog, Jedi at sunrise. I was in a funk with just all the complication life has to offer. I looked at the colors in the sky and noticed I was witnessing the start of another day. I thought of all the people who wished or prayed to make it to another day or that their loved one will and the relief they feel when they do. Thankfully, this is not my situation, but I don’t want to take it for granted that I do get. Another day. Every day, the sun came up today.
Me. Every day, the sun came up today may mean something a little different. Some days, this is incredibly grounding. I think if the earth can orbit in the solar system and the sun and all the science that happens for the sun to come up, then I can do what I need to do. Today. As small in comparison, it is. Some days it’s a pep talk. A moment of gratitude. Or reminder. Or just an obvious observation. We wanted to share this one.
If you want to borrow it. If you are an early riser to catch it happening. If you sleep later. Even on a cloudy, rainy day or snowy days. And you say. The sun came up today. You know, it’s going to be okay.
I personally awake my kids up, and this is a legend in our. Either by saying, good morning. Good morning. New sup the whole night through. Good morning. Good morning to you. To you. To you too. You too, you, they hate this. They hate this. Or I say to them,
Rise and shine and give mom your glory, glory rise, and Jain, and give mom your glory, glory rise and shine, and give mom your glory, glory, children of the Norn..
And they hate that too. So maybe. I will bring up. The sun came up today. And see how that goes. Thank you so much, Andrea, thank you to the trustee family for trusting us with your affirmation. The sun came up today. This is it’s going to be okay. It is going to be okay, but we don’t know what it is. Ever do we today? It’s that the sun came up today tomorrow. Who knows.
